In layman's terms, No matter how badass Isaac is, no matter how determined and smart and ingenious he is, he is still a single human, and therefore unable to make any meaningful change to the Cycle. It then influenced Mankind's evolution and made us heavily reliant on inefficient power production, while simultaneously guiding our collective consciousness to desire an "infinite power supply". I mean, the Black Marker, the original Marker that hit Earth was the meteor that killed the Dinosaurs. This is a process so intricate, complicated and totally uncontrollable on any level a single entity could ever hope to influence. That's kinda the whole point of the Lovecraftian message throughout the games. I doubt the brethren moons are going to chase every last individual crumb of humanity, but the necromorphs and crazy cultists will. TLDR - Dead Space was never about Earth itself and it can survive without it. The brethren moons would give background context to what happened to Earth itself, but Issac would have to battle with his failure to save it, and would also bring the story back to its purely survival roots. It would be a chance to refocus on the aspect of Dead Space everyone enjoys - being trapped on a creepy ship/ station during or shortly after a terrible outbreak has occurred. Space walking to what appears to be the most nearby vessel, something is immediately wrong, and a new nightmare begins. With the ship damaged by debris on exiting, a flotilla of ships heading towards an unknown destination are in a convoy (not unlike Battlestar Galactica). Most major colonies are destroyed or in the dark about what’s going on.įollowing the end of Awakening DLC, Carver manages to shockpoint away from Earth where a mysterious beacon is transmitting. Earthgov (as useful as as useless as it was, is destroyed).
